Cheap, clean clothes for us too

You've seen it. Links on how to make your own laundry detergent this, cheaper by the load that. It's all the rage to make your own laundry detergent. Well today I was a rage-r and made my own. And just in case you needed to see it ONE MORE TIME, I took pictures. :) You're welcome.

  1. First I grated up my bar of soap by hand, nbd ;)
  2. The next step was to dissolve 1 c. of that in 1 quart of water.
  3. Mix until dissolved
  4. Then measure out 1/3 c. of borax and 1/3 c. of washing soda (found both at Kroger's)
  5. Take a picture
  6. Add soda/borax to solution
  7. Mix until it's all dissolved and starts to look syrupy (don't let it boil)
  8. Split the soap solution between two milk gallon jugs. Fill those jugs with water to the top.
  9. Observe and take joy in your work. I mean it. Enjoy what you've worked for. That makes it worth it.
I haven't actually used it in my laundry yet so that will be the true test. The indgredients and steps are all so simple, I have high hopes for it.

Have a great day!
