You've seen it. Links on how to make your own laundry detergent this, cheaper by the load that. It's all the rage to make your own laundry detergent. Well today I was a rage-r and made my own. And just in case you needed to see it ONE MORE TIME, I took pictures. :) You're welcome.
- First I grated up my bar of soap by hand, nbd ;)
- The next step was to dissolve 1 c. of that in 1 quart of water.
- Mix until dissolved
- Then measure out 1/3 c. of borax and 1/3 c. of washing soda (found both at Kroger's)
- Take a picture
- Add soda/borax to solution
- Mix until it's all dissolved and starts to look syrupy (don't let it boil)
- Split the soap solution between two milk gallon jugs. Fill those jugs with water to the top.
- Observe and take joy in your work. I mean it. Enjoy what you've worked for. That makes it worth it.
I haven't actually used it in my laundry yet so that will be the true test. The indgredients and steps are all so simple, I have high hopes for it.
Have a great day!
