An Overnight

This past Christmas my parents paid for a night away at Turkey Run Inn as a gift to Adam and me. We finally got to enjoy it last night and headed out to hike, eat, relax with each other. It was also a mini celebration for the end of my school semester and the beginning of some changes for us.

We started our trip with a hike. Do not let this lovely picture deceive you
We walked about 10 minutes out into the trail and a rain cloud
gathered itself up for a storm.
It started to pour. Absolutely pour. Instead of turning around,
we just kept walking. And walking.
And it was awesome. We were wet through but it was warm and fun.
We eventually met up with a man who was out hiking on his own. His name was Wayne.
We stuck together and helped each other get back to the trail head. After climbing down a rushing gorge, climbing hundreds of stairs, slipping up a ladder or two, and washing the mud and moss off our hands more than once, we got back to our dry car.

We headed to the park's inn and checked into our room.

Being all wet already, we thought we'd go ahead and and swim.
The pool was deserted so we had it to ourselves.

We had a really nice time and some unexpected fun. Thanks Mom and Dad! :) Oh and they just happened to be celebrating their anniversary yesterday. Happy 24th anniversary! Love you!
