Student Life Camp 2012

A total of 40 kids went to camp this year from our church, our biggest group yet!

Here's what my husband/high school youth leader, Adam, had to say:

We’ve had a great start to camp this year! Both the worship leader and camp pastor were unfamiliar to all of us, but after the first experience with them Monday night we knew this is going to be one of the best years in regards to the camp leadership. Casey Darnell is the worship leader and he is vibrant! He leads worship in a great way that relates to everyone, and David Nasser, our camp pastor, is one of the funniest, yet compelling speakers we’ve ever had.

The first night there was a massive response from our group, two of whom came to the Lord for the first time and multiple more teens that are responding in deeper commitment and love to him.

Many teens, both high school and middle school have responded to a call to deeper love with Christ that is not emotional, but realistic and necessary. They simply understand more of what God’s love is for them, and the result is always heart change.

We have had some downs and ups, but overall camp has started huge and we have had an awesome first half of camp through awesome fellowship, games, food, etc…

7:30 Monday morning: meet at the church and be ready for an awesome week

Ahhhhhh!

We made it and still had smiles on our faces after the 4 hour drive.

There was rec time everyday

Water day was wet.

Another day we played various games but everyone's favorite was
playing vollyball with this awesomely, giant ball!

By the end, all were convinced that the church should invest
in a giant beach ball of our own.

Lesson time

Such a meaningful, deep time for us all

Adam and Travis took the opportunity to take the youth group
on a mini field trip and go mini golfing during free time on the last day.

A wonderful week with mixed emotions about going home.

Now that we're home and I feel myself getting into my old habits, I realize how empty my life is unless I'm serving. Who cares what I do with my life as long as I'm loving God and being His servant to people. The world is so lost but there is a way and He is the Way. I need to be spending myself on others. I need to be loving others, investing in others, being available to others. I need to be bold in real life about my dependency and full out love for Christ. I need HIM! and so do you. You need His love, His forgiveness, His friendship, His strength, His plan for your life. We need Him. And He knows it. No matter who you are, He is pursuing you.
