Reclaimed in the name of friendship

A couple weeks ago, I popped into a Goodwill that is just down the street from us.
I spotted (you'll pick up on the pun in a bit) a pair of girls booties that looked very familiar.

I was pretty sure they had belonged to my friend's daughter because I remember her wearing them and I always thought they were super cute!
My friend and her family also live right down the road from this same Goodwill.
I didn't buy them then.
I mentioned them to my friend later and she said she had just donated them!
Hahaa!

Since I am a Goodwill addict and buying other people's junk seems to be my hobby, it wasn't long before I dropped by again.
I thougt I would just glance and see if the booties were still there and guess what?
They were. :)
Of course I bought them that time.

As you can see, they were pretty well worn.
But I had an idea in mind.

 Sharpie to the rescue!

 After some scribbling here and there...

....they looked pretty darn good.
It'll be a couple years before my girls can wear them but it'll be fun to pull them out.

No state was assigned apple pie or chocolate chip cookies because of course those are just too universal..... or national? whatever.

Apparently the state dessert of Indiana is sugar cream pie or Hoosier cream pie.
I guess I'm familiar with cream pie but I've never heard it called sugar cream pie.....is it the same thing?
Also I don't think I've ever had it.

After questioning Google on this matter, turns out that a sugar cream pie truly is just a cream pie with the flavor of...... you guessed it: sugar. :)

I think something more like apple crisp or some sort of cobbler would suit Indiana better

I tried to read through the list of all 50 states and their desserts but it made my mouth water insanely.

Funny Stuff

Ever since Pinterest added the ability to send pins to your friends, my sister and I have have been on a picture sending craze.

We mostly send funny cat pictures back and forth, but we do not limit ourselves :)

So funny and we have so much fun sending pictures back and forth and having a laugh when we see each other in person later.

If you live in our region, the weather is supposed to be wonderful, in the 70's till Wednesday.
:)

Mr. Conner and I will be away, enjoying each other and some down time.
I know it's going to be good because of how excited he is.
It's easy for me to be excited about stuff but when HE is.... well you just know it's going to be fun.

I plan on much reading (this book especially), many naps, many tub soaks (I'd like to try this detox method), and maybe a little shopping.
