I'm a sub teacher for now. This means I go into a new classroom nearly everyday and checkoff activities the permanent teacher has for the students to do for the time I'm there........ well at least that's what's supposed to happen. Today though I was sitting, acting like I was reading while they were SUPPOSED to be doing their work, and I realized this: what I'm actually doing is playing whack-a-mole. I may look like I'm occupying myself with a nice book but what I'm really doing is keeping up my radar on the look out for mutiny. When I see the little snouts, I have to whack 'em down before all you-know-what breaks loose.
Good thing I like whacking moles.
