Getting The Launch Pad Ready

In just a couple days Adam and I will be heading off with our high school girls on a mission camp trip in Atlanta, GA.

That makes these days (today, tomorrow and the first half of Sunday) full of getting readiness.
And since she can't come with us, I'm also experiencing the added complication of getting a little one ready and packed for a week in respite care too.

On top of that, we've got close family leaving to go home tomorrow, other ministry opportunities tomorrow night, church on Sunday morning, and a family reunion to make an appearance at the day we leave.

Oy.

Why do we do this to ourselves? :)
Because we love it, that's why.
Jeez, what's wrong with us?!

But seriously, today is really just the calm before the storm.
I've spent a chunk of this calm getting lists made and coming up with a loose schedule for the next couple of days.
That schedule will hopefully help make sure everything that needs to get done, will indeed get done with minimal tears and stress for all involved.

But camp.
You wanna hear about camp this year?
You do!!!! Great!

Headed home from camp, 2012

Well, usually we go to one camp with all of our 6th-12th grade students.
This year (for many reasons) Adam decided that he really wanted to give our high school girls a unique experience similar to a mission trip.
All the other students (6th-8th grade boys+girls, and 9th-12th grade guys) will go to a more campy camp later this summer.
Both of these camps are organized and ran by Student Life Ministries.

Camp 2013 (highschoolers, can you tell?)

SO...... next week we'll be in Atlanta serving in the inner city at various ministries.
We are pumped!
We are all just submerged in the Word and the presence of God during these camps.
Of course, He always does very big things in the lives of the students (and leaders).

If you believe in the power of prayer (and if you don't, that's ok, it's still powerful) pray however God leads you to for His will this week.
Pray that hearts would trust Him, that grace and mercy would abound, that energy would be in our bodies + minds, and that we would learn a deeper love for Him and our neighbors.

  1. Ha! Love the picture :) I will be praying for you all, it sounds like you have so many wonderful, memory filled days ahead! I pray that God would be involved in all that is said, done and thought. I can't wait to see pictures! :) But no rush, it sounds like you have a lot going on!
